It’s a great family boat that’s easily sailed single-handed. The Starwind 19 was designed by naval architect Jim Taylor to have all the virtues of a larger boat, while remaining affordable and easily trailered. She was conceived as a weekender for four. The boat features a shoal-draft, ballasted keel, centerboard and kick-up rudder. The interior has a galley sink, tank and pump, a large V-berth forward, portable toilet and ice chest storage behind privacy curtain, settee berths port and starboard (but no cushions), an oversized companionway and a large, opening forward hatch. On-deck features include an anchor locker, spacious cockpit with two large lockers, stainless steel bow pulpit, pushpit, stanchions, wrap-around lifelines and adjustable outboard mounting bracket. More history and specifications are online at National Starwind & Sprindrift Class Association.
